Load In/Out:
Standard start time is 10 pm. Most sets are 45 minutes with
15 minute breaks. Doors are open at 7pm for load-in. Sound/Line
checks are to be finished by 9pm. Load out is to be completed
1
hour after last set. Prior arrangements are required to accommodate
different schedules.
Band
Equipment/Instruments:
Shakers desire and goal is to provide its customers and musicians
with
professional entertainment. Band equipment and instruments
are expected
to be in good working order and functioning correctly. Sound
check is
not the time & place to be restringing or fixing cable
problems. Musician
are expected to be prepared and punctual.
Stage
Volumes:
Shakers sound engineer shall have discretion and control over
stage levels.
Shakers stage and venue are exceptionally reflective and bright.
Excessive
stage volumes will result in difficulty obtaining an acceptable
mix in the
room and on stage. Customers are ultimately the key to everyones
success.
Their comfort and satisfaction should determine volume levels.
Soundmans
Rant:
A sound reinforcement system is exactly what those words describe;
a
system that reinforces (amplifies) sound. Some changes (equalization)
an
effects (reverb & delay) enhance the original signal.
If your instruments
and equipment sound like crap, amplified crap is ten times
worse. I dont
possess any magic, incantations or voodoo that works miracles
or wonders
on bad instruments or lack of talent. If your singer is off
key, aint much
I can do about it. You cant polish a turd, no matter how much
time, effort
and wax you put on it, it still looks and smells like shit,
well, I hope you
got the message.
